Biography

Gullnaz Baig is the Executive Director of the Angsana Council, in-charge of driving the mission of the Council forward with the support of the Council trustees. She will spearhead the Council’s efforts at producing thought leadership, building out its network of partners and profile Southeast Asia’s potential to a global audience.

Throughout her career, Ms Baig has consistently achieved remarkable milestones by driving business growth, fostering collaboration and innovation at the convergence of technology, policy, and governance. Her journey began in the public sector, where she played a key role in profiling Singapore’s education system to international partners while driving strategic partnership initiatives. In addition, she actively contributed to various national-level policy review projects, showcasing her expertise and dedication to driving positive change.

Since then, Ms Baig has held various leadership positions within global tech companies such as Meta and TikTok. In these roles, she guided her teams in ensuring that technology was developed and utilized in ways that served the diverse communities across the Asia-Pacific region well, while building out partnerships for the businesses represented across diverse markets and communities across Asia-Pacific. Acting as a bridge between Asia and the rest of the world, Gullnaz adeptly conveyed technical knowledge to non-technical audiences, fostering understanding and collaboration.

As part of her commitment to ensuring that tech is developed in a safe and responsible manner, she is part of a network of trust and safety professionals who volunteer advice to start-ups and tech developers in region.

Ms Baig holds a BSc and MSc with Distinction in History and International Relations from the London School of Economics in the United Kingdom.
